The Eight Minnesota State Parks along the North Shore of Lake Superior
From Gooseberry to Grand Portage, the parks are quintessential North Shore. The state parks encompass some of the most striking natural features of the area : the incredible gorges at Temperance, the High Falls at Tettegouche and Grand Portage, the Devil's Kettle at Judge Magney, Superior's coast at all but Manitou. Stop at as many state parks as you can. It is the most delightful, and easiest, way to explore the shore.

Another beauty of the parks is their accessibility; all but Crosby Manitou are adjacent to Highway 61. Within a quarter-mile of parking every park offers spectacular views. well-maintained trails criss-cross the parks, leading to vistas and picnic sites. Visitor centers offer exhibits, naturalist programs, displays, information, restrooms and gift shops. All state parks are open in the winter, but visitor centers may be closed. Check with each park.
